Dyeing To Change

I bought the 4-Pc. Richardson Living Room Set from Hobby Builders Supply for my Vintage 70's dollhouse. The style is similar to what I had growing up, but not the color. I wanted to change the color to a dark brown. I filled a large bowl with hot water and add several cap fulls of Rit liquid dye. I added the furniture and stirred it around. I continued to add cap fulls of dye and stir until I achieved the color I wanted. I expected the furniture to come apart from the hot water melting the glue but to my surprise it all held together. I also achieved the shabbiness I was looking for.

I feel more lucky than brave, LOL. It took me a month to talk myself into doing it! =)

Great job - I never would have the nerve to do that but maybe now I will.
